Our very first plant in Melbourne

Our close friend and his family came to visit us two weekends ago and they brought along a big bird eye chillies plant for us! It is our very first plant as we never wanted to do any gardening here since it is not our house. Now that we have this plant, we’ll just get a big flower pot and keep it and move it with us when we got our own place later.

There are lots of chillies hanging on the plants and I harvested my first crop yesterday. However, they are extremely ‘HOT’ so I dare not cook with it since the kids can’t take too spicy food. So, we decided to get some vinegar and probably going to make preserved chillies with them. I am still not sure how to do it though. I wonder if I’ll need any fermenter??

    Cut the chillies and put it in a jar with lots of salt. Keep in the fridge. Can last for month. Alternatively, you can make sambal by blending it. Btw, I saw your post regarding kindy search in pg. Can you kindly pm me the details? Thanks
