1st Field Trip – Penang Butterfly Farm

A very back dated post!

In the last 4.5 years of Darrius’s life, he has not gone out with anyone else before. The only time he went without us was when he followed my parents so when the kindy organized a field trip to the Penang Butterfly Farm, we were quite reluctant to let him go. Moreover, it was during the Ghost Month (a bit superstitious lor!). However, after much discussion with PiggyBeng, we decided to let Darrius join the excursion.

Knowing how much he loves butterflies, it will be very cruel of us to stop him from going since most of his classmates will be there. There were a total of 60+ students with all the teachers accompanying.

Darrius was extremely excited since that was the first time he boarded a ‘bas sekolah’ or school bus. He kept reminding me about the trip the entire week. πŸ˜›

He was supposed to be in school by 8am so all the students can gather and the teachers make a count before letting them board the bas. Since it was a Saturday morning, both PiggyBeng and myself lugging Baby G along to send this little kor-kor off to his 1st school excursion. Of course I was there for the photo taking opportunity! πŸ˜†

Monkeying around before queuing up

Queuing up to board the bus

Very happy to board the bus!

Finally up in the bus!

Chatting with classmate about the butterflies?

Well, in case you thought I trailed him from behind… I did not! πŸ˜› I managed to get some photos of him from one of his teachers so I can post them up here. πŸ˜€ I am no mamarazzi!!! Unless I don’t have Baby G around probably I would! *chuckle*

must hold hands

*hmmm… what species of butterfly is this?*

*I love moths*

We were told to go around 12.45pm to fetch him but I was slightly late and he was the only one there with his teachers when I arrived. Apparently they got back to the school around 12.15pm. πŸ˜›

Darrius was a little worried thinking we do not want him anymore! πŸ˜†

Nevertheless, he thoroughly enjoyed the trip and kept telling us about the butterflies, scorpions, moths and caterpillars when he was at home. And he asked me again yesterday if he can go to the Butterfly Farm again? Again??

  4. Heh heh….I was just thinking, OMG, you followed him to the field trip. LOL.

Even now, I still feel a little worried when Mei Mei goes on field trips but we just got to let go the apron string a little for them to have fun, I guess.

Doesn’t the kindy allow parents to follow? Yiu Yiu’s kindy gives parents the option to tag long their field trips.
