Self feeding – The journey begins…

Well, it is never too young to train your child to self-feed! I can’t remember when I started doing this with Darrius but I am going to try to train Baby G now since she is soon becoming a ‘wai-sek-mao’ or a little glutton! She can chomp down her bowl of porridge in record time of 15 mins! What an achievement when I was just grumbling about her slow and uninterested eating habits just weeks earlier. 😛

Initially I was hesitated if I should let her eat those little Cherios due to the ingredients they were made of. Then I gave her a few loops and she shown some interest in picking them up. Gave her a few over a few days and noticed there were no allergy reaction so thought they are safe for her.

This morning I gave Darrius a bowl of those mixed cereal and the little glutton saw the kor-kor eating and started making noise so I gave her a little and put them in a metal bowl and used a suction pad to hold the bowl onto the high chair’s table. A new milestone was recorded…

She enjoyed her little ‘snack’ time though she can’t eat all that much! And for being able to self-feed, this mommy has yet again found another excuse to put the little samseng on the high-chair for a longer period so she can blog or do whatever! 😀

My samseng has to be tied down on d highchair or being monitored closely. If not she will climb up and wanted to “jump down” on her own if she her food finished! @_@”

    • Angeleyes says:

Haha! I think my samseng will do the same too! She is so different from her kor-kor
who is so tame and ‘guai’ and will not climb here and there when on the high chair!

It is so funny how you call her a little samseng..haha.

Anyway, letting our kids feed on their own is always an important milestone that mommies look forward to:)

Yes! When kids can self feed, means we have less things to do… well almost! hahaha but More cleaning!!!

  3. Well done Glennie. Love the pics, she looks so adorable.

Wow, she’s good! I’m *so* envious of how well your kids can feed themselves.

I thought the girl will be much better but she’s turning out to be quite choosy too 😛
