Down with tonsillitis

Though it was a long weekend for most but what we had was a tiring weekend not because we went holidaying but both kids were down! First it was Baby G with food poisoning and last night it was Darrius who was down with fever and vomiting. He refused to take the paracetamol and ended up making himself throwing up. We have to force threaten him (threw him out of the house) so that he finally give in and take it without any protest.

This morning he has to skip school as his fever did not subside (38.3 C) even after we gave him paracetamol around 4am. All of us was too tired to get off the bed. He was fine around 8+am so I made him a bottle of milk which he guzzled down willingly. Then around 10+ I steamed some mantous for him since I don’t know what else to let him eat. While eating I tested him temperature again and found that his fever returned.

Therefore, I decided to bring him to the pead. We went around 11.30am but the queue for the pead was loooooooooooooooong. Monday + long weekend was the reasons. We waited for almost 1.5 hours before decided to head home as Darrius was already too tired and sleepy. I told him to take another dose of the paracetamol before going to sleep.

We went back to the pead around 3.30pm and was finally done around 4+pm. Pead told me that Darrius has tonsillitis and a virus infection in his throat…. hence the fever and the vomiting.

It was a long wait for the prescriptions too. Monday is really a bad day to go to the hospital. Darrius was like his usual naughty self when he was waiting on the line playing with those clamps. Told him endless times not to touch anything as there are bound to be germs… a habit which I have no idea how to deal with. This boy just love to touch things and then put his fingers into his mouth!

Gave him a bun before letting him have his medication earlier but now his fever returned again. I am anticipating another looooooong night ahead.
