To Perda again…

This is a backdated post…

I am trying to find time to clear all my back log which has started to build up into a small mountain now! I have so many photos but still don’t have time to sort them out. Anyway, I’ll write about our recent trip to the Mainland during the Awal Muharram long weekend.

The first time we were there was about 2.5 month ago when Jusco Perda first opened for business. We actually kind of like the place very much for it ‘space’. And of course the lil monkey loves that place as he gets to play on that giant inflatable gym again!

Initially we wanted to start the journey early in the morning as PiggyBeng said he wanted to bring us to have dim sum breakfast at one of the popular dim sum place in Bukit Mertajam. We checked out the post by VKeong as I remembered he blogged about a place that has interesting selection of dim sum. Then we were off to the jetty to catch the ferry around 8.30am.

And guess what? When we were first on our queue at the terminal, Darrius said he wanted to pee. Then PiggyBeng went to take him out and he has already peed in his pants! Shiaks! And silly me did not bring any extra pants that day!!!! That silly boy thought I put on diaper for him and he can jolly pee as and when he wants! So, how? Turned back lor!!

The back and forth took almost 45 minutes and finally we were back at the jetty around 9.20am and we were lucky we don’t have to wait too long for the ferry (PiggyBeng wanted to use the bridge but we have promised Darrius to take ferry so a promise is a promise!). We got on the double deck again but this time we were at the lower deck. The ferry traveled real fast and within 15 minutes or so we already reached the other side.

I was so hungry by then so we quickly drive to BM to search for that dim sum place. We made a few rounds and it was almost 11am by then and we still can’t locate the place so we gave up. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ In the end we decided to just go to Jusco Perda and see what we can find. Ended up we bought bread from La Boheme and Little Cottage!

While munching on our ‘breakie’ we brought Darrius to the giant gym. It was still considered early so there weren’t many people around and Darrius was among the first few kids who entered the gym. After settling in, I went off to shop while PiggyBeng watched over Darrius.

Almost all the shops were having sales and I spoil myself rotten by buying so many things! Must help the economy a little mah! ๐Ÿ˜›

After almost an hour PiggyBeng buzzed me and asked me to meet up so we could go for lunch. And on my way there, I went to get one of this caddy for Darrius which he did not get to ride in the first time we were there as they were all booked out! (I tried to get one earlier but it steering wheel had dropped off!) You should see Darrius expression the moment he saw the caddy! He was beeming from ear to ear! ๐Ÿ™‚

What so great about these caddies was, they are free and has no time limit on how long you can use them! So, most people will use them the moment they arrived and returned when they leave the place. All you need to do is register with theย  Information counter and leave your driver license with them.

Then we went on our search for lunch…

We ended up eating at one of the Hong Kong styled ‘Char Chan Teng’ located on the 1st floor. They were having some set lunches offer so my ‘kiam siap’ hubby were all game for it! The place is called Hongkie Recipes and we ordered their Fried Fish Fillet with Sweet & Sour Sauce Rice and Dry Fried Tenderloin with Corn Rice which came together with a bowl of soup of the day and a glass of iced tea or coffee.

I must say the food is pretty good. The fish fillets were thick and fresh and the beef slices are very fragrant. And they are less than RM11 per person!

Then we started our second round of shopping. This time it was PiggyBeng’s turn to shop. He was excited as the pants he has been eyeing on were on sale. 70% off some more! So he grabbed a few and we have to wait for the alteration. While waiting, he went to get a few shirts too. While browsing around, I saw some north face jackets on sale and I was really tempted to get one for PiggyBeng as he don’t have that many jackets with him since he travels pretty often… Too bad he said I can’t buy anything for him or he will pull long face again as I has been spending too much! 8)

We finally left Jusco around 3.30pm and again PiggyBeng wanted to search for that dim sum place again. Finally after 2 rounds we finally found it! Yeah! So, the next time we go to mainland again, we will go there…

And since we still have a little time to kill… PiggyBeng brought as to Mengkuang Dam…

This damn is huge! Very nice surrounding and we can see a lot of people takes the opportunity to go there with their family during the long break. Too bad the weather took a turn suddenly and it begun to rain! We were lucky to have escaped before it arrived! Since it was almost dinner time, we went to search for food. We spent an hour locating a place to eat but you know, there isn’t many places to eat there!!!! We finally have to settled in Chai Leng Park for some hawker fare…

On the way back… we got stuck on the bridge! It took us almost an hour before we reached our house!

That little caddy looks like the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, so yeah, little kids like to sit in there. We have one at home which I bought from a garage sale for just 10 bucks.

fun outing with your family! wah, got stuck an hr on the bridge, i think is because of the expansion they are doing that caused the jam? i think penang is really in need of a second bridge to connect to the mainland. dunno if the expansion will help to ease the traffic.

btw, it takes very long to upload your page. dunno if is my internet or your server. just thought i let you know.
