After four night stay at the ‘tai-pak-sar’ (great white shark or throat cutting) Island Hospital, my father in law was finally allowed to be discharged. Over that few days, the doctor did almost all necessary tests to find out what are the causes of his blackout. He ran tests on father in law’s heart, lungs as well as brain but found nothing seriously wrong except he has been having some high blood pressure since admitted.
Therefore, at the end he was told that he is suffering from vertigo benign. What is that? Vertigo is the feeling that you or your environment is moving when no movement occurs… Vertigo can be caused by problems in the brain or the inner ear which was explained by one of the medical website. My father in law was experiencing some kind of dizziness after he went out for trekking/hiking a few days ago. We suspected that he has over exert his body.
Ever since my father in law retired from his last job a few months ago, he spent a lot of time watching those TVB dramas (starring at the screen for a prolonged period) and did not do much excercising. Then he suddenly went for hiking to Pulau Kerachut the previous weekend as one of his hiking mate wanted to test out his new nightforce rifle scopes.
Anyhow, we are glad that he is fine and nothing serious is affecting his health.
