The last of the durian season…. is still onz!
Aiyah, I’m no big fan of durian but PiggyBeng is so as a good and supportive wife I have to make him happy by joining his ‘addiction’. I have stayed ‘durianless’ for the past 15 years (a record that is hard to believe eh?) and only during the recent durian season I started to dig in to this so-called ‘King of fruit’. Well, staying in Penang mah… so have to live the Penangite’s way also… Since they have this ‘Red Prawn’ and ‘Pu-lo’ type of durian breed/species which were said to be among the best… why not just break-the-fast hor? Well, I do it for Darrius’s sake…. some said that durian helps to boost milk production… and it’s quite true.
PiggyBeng is one huge durian fan… when he sees a good fruit he ‘die-die’ must eat it. So, not only women have craving… men too! Btw, my PiggyBeng also have PMS but not the monthly type…. it’s the daily type! 
Actually the durian season is almost nearing its end but we still can see small ‘longgok’ (loads) here and there around the island. One of the place we used to hunt over the past few weeks was Sunshine Farlim. Why this place rite???
Ok, they don’t sell the famous Red Prawn or Pu-lo but I must say that the few times we bought the durian there were not a bad buy. They will open the durian and take out the ‘flesh’ and pack/cling-wrapped it… which is good as we don’t have to get rid of the husks later. They will place all the opened fruits on a table and people can select the packed durian that looks good to them. But the best part is, after 8.30pm (daily) they will half the price of each pack…. hey… 50% off wor!!! Must grab lah! People actually starts gathering around the durian counter around 8.25pm and one guy will come 5 or 10 mins later to mark down the price.
I think those we bought (a few times) are actually the D24. Well, who cares right? As long as it’s tasty and at half price… no complains mah!!! 
While I was writing this post it reminded me about a friend of mine who was an Arabian. He commented that our ‘King of fruit’ as somthing that smell like shit but taste like heaven…. hehehehe
